April 23, 2012 This month: Cairo screening, Mediawave, Greenland Eyes and more…

April has been a busy month! While its director traveled trough Ethiopia and Mozambique for his new film project (watch the trailer here), Silent Snow was screened on the International Mountain Film Festival in Domzale (Slovenia), Athens International Film Festival (Ohio, US), ViewFinders in Halifax (Nova Scotia) and last but not least in Cairo, Egypt. The film won the ‘Best Mountain Nature and Culture Film’ award in Slovenia, where we were represented by Dutch Ambassador Jos Douma.

This week, the Dutch cinema tour continues with two screenings:

-       April 23&25 in Luxor Filmtheater in Zutphen. Both screenings start at 20:30. On Wednesday 25, Jan van den Berg will be present to answer questions after the screening. More info: tel. 057-5513750.

-       April 26 Heerenstraattheater in Wageningen. Screening starts at 19:30 and Jan van den Berg will be present for an introduction to the film and a Q&A after.

Furthermore, Silent Snow will be screened on Mediawave International Film and Music Festival in Fort Monostor, Komárom (Hungary) from April 26-30, where it will be part of the ‘World and Images’ documentary program.

On April 28, it’s time for Berlin’s GREENLAND EYES INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL, taking place at renowned Arsenal Cinema April 24-30. The festival is exceptional in its combination of multiple perspectives on today’s Greenland such as film, art, music, storytelling, politics and scholarship. Saturday is documentary day at Greenland Eyes: Silent Snow will be screened together with Nuuk Nuann (Lovely Nuuk) at 18:30.
